WENDY WILLIAMS AILING

NEW YORK (AP) — Wendy Williams is taking time off TV — doctor’s orders. The talk show host says she will be away for three weeks after a doctor told her to rest to deal with Graves’ Disease and hyperthyroidism. Speaking to her audience on the show that aired today, Williams said she’s been feeling like there are birds flying around her head — like they do in the cartoons. She urged the women in her audience not to neglect their health — and to get regular check-ups. Williams is 53.

JURASSIC WORLD REBOOT

NEW YORK (AP) — Can’t get enough of Jurassic Park? Not to worry — you won’t have a lack of movies to see. Universal Pictures is planning a third installment in the dinosaur franchise. That movie, “Jurassic World 3,” is due out in June 2021. Meantime, the reboot “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” hits theaters this June. “Jurassic World” ranks among the biggest box-office hits ever. It launched with a $208.8 million opening weekend and finished with $1.7 billion worldwide in ticket sales.

“BLACK PANTHER” INCIDENT

SPARTA, N.J. (AP) — Officials in New Jersey say a woman ruined a showing of “Black Panther” — by yelling out a racial slur. Officials in Sparta say the showing was halted after the audience was upset by the slur — uttered Sunday by a woman police describe as “extremely intoxicated.” NJ.com reports there were no charges filed — since only one person at the movie was able to identify the culprit — and that person didn’t want to sign a complaint. Still the woman is banned from returning to the theater — and the rest of the audience got vouchers to see the film another time.

“BLACK PANTHER” — BOX OFFICE UPDATE

NEW YORK (AP) — “Black Panther” is gearing up for what its studio hopes will be another blockbuster weekend. So far the movie has taken aim at some of the top-grossing movies of all time. For example, “Black Panther” took in $40.2 on Monday, Presidents Day. That’s the top total for any movie on a Monday. It also ranks second on the list of ticket sales for a four-day weekend.

GEORGE, AMAL CLOONEY DONATE TO HELP STUDENTS PROTESTING GUN VIOLENCE

NEW YORK (AP) — George Clooney and his wife Amal say when groups of students start their marches next month to protest gun violence, they’ll be right beside them. The celebrity couple will be on hand at some of the events. They are also helping organizers — by donating a half million dollars for the marches. The Clooneys say they have been inspired by the expressions made by students in the wake of the Florida high school assault-rifle massacre last week, which left 17 dead.

GERALDO RIVERA – TRUMP GUNS

WASHINGTON (AP) — TV personality Geraldo Rivera says he’s been able to run a few ideas about gun control past President Donald Trump — and so far, the president seems open to them. The Fox News contributor says he and Trump talked guns during a dinner at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort over the weekend. He says Trump was “shocked and distressed” by the damage inflicted and was “deeply affected” by visits with survivors of the Parkland, Florida rampage that left 17 dead.

BRIT AWARDS

LONDON (AP) — The carpet was red — but white is the color being used to in London to help usher in the Brit Awards. Guests at Britain’s biggest music awards show are sporting white rose pins in solidarity with the “Time’s Up” movement. There was a similar gesture at Sunday’s British Academy Film Awards, where women wore black to oppose sexual misconduct and bullying.

OSCARS – PRESENTERS

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Wonder Woman and Luke Skywalker will be at the Academy Awards this year. Or at least the actors who play them onscreen will be. Oscar producers say Gal Gadot (gah-DUHT’) and Mark Hamill will appear on the show, along with fellow “Star Wars” actors Oscar Isaac and Kelly Marie Tran. Other presenters signed up for the show include Lin-Manuel Miranda, Gina Rodriguez, Armie Hammer and Zendaya. Jimmy Kimmel will host the March 4 telecast, which will air on ABC.
