Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre visiting Ellen Eccles tonight

LOGAN – The Cache Valley Center for the Arts is presenting “Ailey II” tonight beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Ellen Eccles Theatre. Coordinator Jann Watterson said the dancers are from the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre in New York City and are renowned for captivating audiences.

“They are out of Harlem,” she said. “They have been around for quite a long time at this point. They especially came into prominence in the sixties. Their junior company is really special because they are rising dancers who are incredibly talented, incredibly passionate and take the choreography that Alvin Ailey himself created and then with astoundingly talented choreographers.”

It will be the junior company visiting Logan.

Watterson said there will also be a master class Saturday morning for some of the intermediate and advanced dancers. For ticket information visit CacheArts.org.
