LOGAN — The trial for Jacob W. Wilson, who is accused of having sex with an underage girl, has been canceled after the 19-year-old Logan man accepted a plea deal.

Wilson appeared in 1st District Court Monday morning. He pleaded guilty to unlawful sexual activity with a minor and dealing in materials harmful to a minor, both third-degree felonies, and misdemeanor drug possession. As part of the deal, prosecutors dropped the three remaining charges against him.

Wilson was arrested in October by Cache County Sheriff’s deputies, after previously serving 81-days in jail for sexting with an underage girl and criminal mischief. He was being held in the Cache County Jail on $29,000 bail.

During Monday’s hearing, state attorney Jacob Gordon said Wilson took a video of the underage girl, while she was in the shower. He later sent naked pictures of himself to her cellphone.

Wilson will remain in jail until he is sentenced. He could face up to five years in prison.
