LOGAN — A trial has been set for a Jacob W. Wilson, who is accused of having sex with an underage girl. The 19-year-old Logan man faces charges of sexual exploitation of a minor, a second-degree felony, three counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor, and dealing in harmful materials to a minor, all third-degree felonies, and two misdemeanors.
Wilson appeared in 1st District court Monday morning. His public defender asked for the three-day trial, but said he and prosecutors will continue to work out a possible plea deal. Judge Thomas Willmore set the trial to begin January 31.
Wilson was arrested in October by Cache County Sheriff’s deputies, after previously serving 81-days in jail for sexting with an underage girl and criminal mischief. He is currently being held in the Cache County Jail on $29,000 bail.
Court records show, Wilson has already waived his right to a preliminary hearing. He also pleaded not guilty to all of the charges.
