A public comment opportunity will take place Tuesday evening from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. for the Cache County adoption of a countywide trail plan. The event will be held in the historic Cache County Courthouse at 199 North Main in Logan.
On KVNU’s For the People program on Monday, Cache County trails planner Dayton Crites said, agree or disagree, let your voice be heard.
“Tell your county commissioners what you think of the idea of establishing a plan that lays the groundwork for us to find grants in the future, identify where we should focus our energies on trying to find connections between communities within communities and how we might prioritize trails and active transportation solutions between our towns into our public lands and across our valley.
“In our little county your voice matters and I think if the county council sees that there’s a lot of support for trails, it may be easier to fund these things with RAPZ funding and other projects going forward.
“And if I’m mistaken, and there’s not as much support as I think, then maybe there’s ways this trails plan should change as it goes forward. But this is really a good opportunity for public input,” said Crites.
He said this meeting comes as the culmination on top of the five events held over the spring and summer, listening to the public before the trails plan was even drafted.
