Aggie Twitter reactions: USU at Air Force

The Utah State football team traveled to Colorado Springs for the final game of season. As the team played, some fans took to Twitter to give their reactions.

The game started great for the Aggies. A reverse to Aaren Vaughns went for 71-yards and a touchdown on the first series. Then, after an Air Force field goal, USU’s Gerold Bright ran 71 yards into the endzone, putting USU up 14-3 early.

Utah State and Air Force swapped touchdowns, then the Falcons used its ground attack to score two straight to take its first lead of the game.

<blockquote class=”twitter-tweet” data-partner=”tweetdeck”><p lang=”en” xml:lang=”en” dir=”ltr”>Not sure this group of Aggies deserve to go to a bowl game. They’re getting rolled by the 11th ranked defense out of 12 in the MWC, and they can’t stop AF’s offense. This is terrible.

Air Force looked to extend it 24-21 lead with a chance to score on fourth-and-goal from USU’s 1-yard line, but the Aggie defense came through, forcing a turnover on downs on the first play of the fourth quarter.

Quarterback Jordan Love then took to the air and led the team down the field, retaking the lead with a pass to Ron’Quavion Tarver.

Then disaster struck. The USU defense forced a punt, but it was downed near the goal line. The ball was then fumbled into the endzone and picked up by Air Force, which gave the Falcons a 31-28 lead.

<blockquote class=”twitter-tweet” data-partner=”tweetdeck”><p lang=”en” xml:lang=”en” dir=”ltr”>I’m not saying we shouldn’t have called the “fumble and let Air Force recover for a TD” play…<br /><br />Actually, yeah, I am saying that

But Love, and the offense, bounced back. Getting another touchdown to Tarver.

Then it was Air Force’s turn to strike back. The Falcons’ ground game burned up clock and Air Force retook the lead, leaving just 1:38 on the clock. USU was unable to score, turning the ball over on downs.

<blockquote class=”twitter-tweet” data-partner=”tweetdeck”><p lang=”en” xml:lang=”en” dir=”ltr”>Unreal. Throw it to Tarver. He just scored two TD’s for you. We don’t deserve to go to a bowl game.
