LOGAN – Many are familiar with the so-called “Loaves and Fishes Community Meal” where a free meal is served every first and third Saturday to those who cannot afford to buy a meal or perhaps don’t want to eat alone.
Coordinator Amy Anderson said a special Thanksgiving Feast will be served Saturday, Nov. 18th from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Logan. Cache Valley residents are invited to participate.
“Normally for our meals we rely on a single group or organization to help provide the volunteers,” she said. “But for this meal each year we try to have it be available to families. So we are opening the volunteer opportunities to anybody to give us a call to see if they would like to come and help with meal prep, with setup and with clean up. Right now we have a particular need for people to help with the dish wash and clean up area.”
Anderson said they are usually the most difficult jobs and more volunteers are needed. She said anyone willing to volunteer is asked to call (435) 535-5296.
