Police in Idaho have arrested a Willard City man, accused of killing a man at his home and then fleeing the area. Chay L. Blair was taken into custody Wednesday morning in Idaho.
Box Elder County Sheriff Chief Deputy Dale Ward said officers responded to Blair’s home at 435 S. Main around 9 a.m., after receiving a 911 call stating there was a deceased individual there. Officers responded and found Cody D. Henderson dead at the scene. The 27-year-old Ohio man is believed to have died earlier in the morning from blunt force trauma.
Officers quickly named Blair a person of interest in the case. The 25-year-old man was arrested without incident.
Ward said police originally thought Henderson was in Utah for work. It was later determined that he became acquainted with people while in the state for work and had returned on personal business. It is unknown if that was for recreation, to go hunting or exactly why.
Blair is expected to be extradited back to Utah. Charges are pending the completion of the investigation.
