Monday is more than just Labor Day in Wellsville

It is also celebrated as Labor Day, but for Wellsville Mayor Thomas Bailey Monday is something more important: it is Founders Day in his city.

The mayor is inviting everyone in Cache Valley and beyond to come to his community to help celebrate and some of the activities are now underway.

“Founders Day means an opportunity, to me, for the community to come together,” Bailey exclaims. “For a lot of the people who used to live here they come back for Founders Day.

“It’s a great time to associate with people. It’s a great time to renew friendships. It’s a great time for Wellsville City to celebrate its founding.”

Mayor Bailey says activities will continue the rest of the week. Monday is the big day with many activities planned. They include a parade at 10 a.m., a lot of music and games for all ages and a dutch oven meal and much more. There is a special program Sunday in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Wellsville Stake Center starting at 7:30 p.m.
