The 2017 football season kicked off at high schools all over Utah Friday night with all six Region 12 teams in action. CacheValleyDaily.com will have the scores from each local high school all season.

Juan Diego 10 at Bear River 20

Bear River fell behind 10-6 in the second half before scoring the last two touchdowns to secure the victory late. The Bears will play next Friday night at home against county rival Box Elder.

Sky View 27 at Stansbury 17

Sky View fell behind 17-0 to start, but rallied back for the win. The Bobcats will travel to Tooele County again next week for a matchup against Tooele High.

Pine View 69 at Green Canyon 21

After Green Canyon took a 7-0 lead 1:56 into the first quarter, Pineview outscored the Wolves 35-7 over the next 16 minutes to pull away. Jacob Mpungi rushed for 233 yards for the Panthers while Chad Yorgason caught eight passes for 208 yards and two touchdowns for Green Canyon, but Pine View had too much firepower and pulled away for the 69-21 win. Green Canyon will travel north of the border into Pocatello, Idaho to play Shelley High in the dome at Idaho State University’s Holt Arena.

Bonneville 34 at Logan 14

Not much went right for the Grizzlies in the season opener. Logan will stay at home for its week two game against Park City.

Ridgeline 8 at Spanish Fork 22

Four turnovers at key moments doomed the RiverHawks. Spanish Fork almost pulled off the 22-point shutout until Ridgeline’s Jacob Mora caught an endzone pass with less than a minute to go.

The RiverHawks will head to St. George for its game against Snow Canyon High next Friday.

Mountain Crest 22 at Highland 21

The Mustangs picked up the victory in a thriller in Salt Lake. Trailing seven points with barely more that a minute to go Mountain Crest scored the final touchdown and converted on a gutsy 2-point conversion.

Mountain Crest will play its home opener next Friday against Wasatch High.
