Chart topping band Exile to perform at Cache County Fair

The Cache County Fair and Rodeo will feature a free concert Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. with a band who had a #1 hit in the 60’s with “Kiss you all over”. The band, Exile, switched gears in the 1980’s with 10 #1 hits on Billboard’s Country Music charts.

Those #1 hits include “Woke up in Love”, “I Don’t Want to be a Memory”, “Give Me One More Chance”, “Crazy for Your Love “, “She’s a Miracle”, “Hang on to Your Heart”, “I Could Get Used to You”, “It’ll Be Me”, “She’s Too Good To Be True” and “I Can’t Get Close Enough”.

In an interview on KOOL 103.9, Marlon Hargis said the success of “Kiss you all over” made the band a 15-year overnight success.

“Like a lot of musicians we definitely paid our dues, and that’s all a part of it,” said Hargis. “And that makes you appreciate the good times even more when you have to deal with that as well.”

Hargis said a shift in the music industry meant a change of direction for the band.

“I have to say we really didn’t change our sound a lot, it’s as I say things were changing and it was actually a pretty easy transition for us.”
