No elephants, but plenty of entertainment at 2017 Cache County Fair and Rodeo

LOGAN — There will be no elephants at the 2017 Cache County Fair and Rodeo. Fair Manager Jill Zollinger said that’s because they were here under a two-year contract that has now expired.

Zollinger said there will still be a lot to enjoy at the fair, including great entertainment at the PRCA Rodeo, which takes place August 10, 11, and 12. The pre-rodeo show begins at 7:30 p.m. nightly, with the rodeo beginning at 8 p.m.

“We’re going to have the EhCapa Bareback Riders,” Zollinger said, “and they’re out of Boise, I believe. We’ve had them before, but they’re excellent and we’ve had a lot of people who really loved watching them. So they’ll be at the rodeo, along with Rider Kiesner, and he does a lot of maneuvers and jumps with saddles and bridles and a gun-spinning and trick roping, so he’s a crowd pleaser.”

Mutton Bustin’ will also take place each evening for children ages 5-7 and under 80 lbs.

Zollinger said tickets for the rodeo are selling fast and are available at both local Macey’s stores, the North Logan IFA and the Cache County Clerk’s Office. Tickets may also be purchased online. Pricing begins at $10/ticket, with a “Thursday Family Night” package for families of 5 tickets/$30.
