UPDATE: Idaho man dies five-days after motorcycle accident near Preston

The man involved in a motorcycle accident last week near Preston has passed away. Idaho State Police report Brian Christensen died Monday in the hospital, where he was being treated for his injuries.

On July 12, Christensen was driving a 1985 Honda motorcycle southbound on US-91. Near milepost 20, the 45-year-old Pocatello man lost control while attempting to pass another vehicle.

The bike went off the right shoulder and into the barrow pit.

Christensen was not wearing a helmet and was thrown from the motorcycle. He was transported by ambulance to Franklin County Medical Center and later flown by helicopter to Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello.

ISP officers report Christensen’s family was notified of his death.

The accident occurred around 4:45 p.m. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
