Utah State’s AJ Boully places 22nd in 400-meter hurdles at USA Track & Field Outdoor Championships

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Utah State’s AJ Boully officially capped his stellar Aggie career by placing fourth in his heat and 22nd overall in the first round of the men’s 400-meter hurdles at the USA Track & Field Championships on Friday night at Hornet Stadium.

Boully, who graduated last month from Utah State, crossed the finish line in 51.18 seconds.

The USATF Outdoor Track & Field Championships serve as a qualifying meet for the 2017 IAAF World Championships in London in August. The top-three finishers per event earn a spot on Team USA, should they reach the IAAF qualifying standards.

Three Aggies competed in the USATF Junior Outdoor Championships on Friday. Bailee Parker placed 14th in the final of the women’s 5,000-meter run with a time of 18:00.89, while Darren Harman placed 11th with a time of 15:13.59 on the men’s side in the same event.

Maia Garren finished 10th in the finals of the women’s hammer throw (47.56m/156-0) and 19th in the finals of the shot put (13.35m/43-9.75).

The 2017 USATF Junior Track & Field Championships serve as the selection meet for the 2017 Pan American Junior Championships, which are being held July 21-23 in Trujillo, Peru.
