A monthly Legislative Town Hall Meeting hosted by Cache County’s elected state representatives will be held Thursday, June 22, starting at 7 p.m. in the Historic Cache County Courthouse in Logan, located at 199 N. Main Street. Republican State Senator Lyle Hillyard said the public is invited to attend and there will be a chance to ask questions of the elected officials. Hillyard said the topic of the June meeting is “Bear River Conservation and Storage Options.”
“The speaker we invited is from the Weber/Davis Water Conservancy Area, and they will talk about why they think it’s so important that they get water out of the Bear River and take it down for their needs,” Hillyard said. “We also have somebody from Water Conservation. They’ll talk about what we think are important things to protect our water and our wildlife and that around water. We also have someone from Rocky Mountain Power that will talk about their plans to raise the level of Cutler Dam and Bear Lake.”
Hillyard said the monthly meetings with the public are to educate people on the current issues, and there is no effort to have those attending take a stand on the topics discussed. He said Representative Curt Webb has done a good job putting the meeting together.
