He’s already done a great deal of work with city employees and now Keith Schnare has decided he would like to be a member of the Logan Municipal Council.
Schnare has filed for that office and believes he is well qualified for the position because he is both an engineer and a planner.
“I chair the CERT council for the fire department, which is the Community Emergency Response Team,” Schnare explains. “And I’ve worked with the exercises in the Emergency Operations Center so I know most of the city managers.
“I’m also on the Parking Appeals Board. There seem to be some issues that the city needs to address. I’m an engineer, I’m a planner and I think I’ve got the skills that would help the city make some good decisions and move forward.”
Schnare says he has read the Town Center Plan and the city’s General Plan. He feels they are good but they are not being implemented as well as they could be. Although the Summer Citizen program is great, he says we also need something that focuses on families and young people in the community.
The filing deadline to be considered a candidate for Logan City Council or Mayor is 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 7.
