It’s just over two weeks away—the Summerfest Arts Faire—and Executive Director Elaine Thatcher said the artists have been juried, the food booths are ready to go and 37 performing groups have been booked for the two stages on Logan’s Tabernacle Square from June 15-17. Thatcher said the headline acts have been announced, and one group is local while the other two are from the Salt Lake City area.
Thatcher said a rising local group, Danger 5, will be the featured act on Thursday, June 15, taking the Cache Valley Media Group Stage on the north side of the grounds. Talented vocalist Danielle Armour, who fronts the group, describes its sound as funk, soul and rock.
“Then on Friday night,” Thatcher said, “we are bringing in a veteran of ‘American Idol’ named Shaun Canon. He is from Salt Lake City. He does pop music, and he’s going to bring his big band, which includes brass and a lot of fun. Again, we’d like to encourage people to dance and just to enjoy the music.”
Thatcher said on Saturday, Salt Lake City-based Malibu Revue will pull out all the stops for an evening of ‘50s and ‘60s rock and roll, from Elvis to the Beatles. The band first performed as one of the most popular in Utah for several years, and now they have reunited.
