Twelve area high schools celebrate 2017 graduation

Forty-five high school seniors from InTech Collegiate High School were the first students in the Cache and Bear River valleys to graduate in 2017, with commencement exercises taking place Tuesday, May 23, in the ballroom of Utah State University’s Taggart Student Center. Throughout the rest of this week and next, area high schools are sending off their seniors with gusto.

This year marks significant anniversaries for several local high schools, with Ridgeline High School graduating its first senior class and Logan High School celebrating its 100th commencement. For students on every campus in the community, the day seniors “walk” is monumental.

“To me, it’s always been a symbol of growing up,” said Sean Walker, who will graduate from Ridgeline on June 1. “Even though I’m already 18, now people will really look at me as an adult. High school has been a great experience, but there are so many new things I get to do now.”
