New Cache GOP chair looking forward to new challenge

Because he has no opposition Casey Snider will become the new Cache County Republican Party Chairman at the party’s annual organizing convention on Friday, March 31st. The event will be held at Ridgeline High School in Millville with registration at 5:30 p.m. and the convention will begin at 6:30 p.m.

The Paradise resident replaces Boyd Pugmire in the party’s top position and he says he is looking forward to the challenge, although, in his words, “Pugmire will be hard to replace.”

The new chairman does not lack for political experience. He worked several years for the late Senator Bob Bennett and more recently has served as legislative director for Congressman Rob Bishop.

“Politics is an opportunity to do a lot of good in your community,” says Snider. “I’m really excited to work with great folks and ensure we continue to elect good officials in this county, moving the party platform but also making sure we are able to have a civil dialogue and a civil discourse on items that are political in nature.”

Snider prides himself in being part of the volunteer fire department in his community and claims that is the most rewarding job he has had.
