It’s been costly and a lot of work putting Cache County back together following the flooding that occurred in numerous places approximately three weeks ago. County Executive Craig Buttars said there are still several road closures, and that includes Mendon Road.
“It’s a major road and we’re trying to get that repaired as quickly as possible,” Buttars said. “We’ll have the plans to build a new box culvert there. It’s an inconvenience, but we really can’t go out and do a temporary fix on that because it would be very costly and still the culvert could settle further and we would still be looking at a more costly fix.”
Buttars said it looks like things will have to dry out a little more before crews can get out there to get things rebuilt. He said what would help the most is a long, slow thaw this spring.
