Kent Haueter recognized as 2016 Rotarian of the Year

Being a member of a Rotary Club does not make someone a Rotarian, it only makes them a member of a club. A Rotarian helps the club achieve its goals and acts with high standards. They also participate in the club’s community projects.

It is hard choosing and honoring just one person who embodies the spirit of Rotary. This annual award is designated for one Rotarian in the Logan Club who clearly stands out in demonstrating “Service Above Self”.

The 2016 Rotarian of the Year has all these qualities and more, and that is Kent Haueter.

Haueter has been in the Logan Rotary club for more than 33 years, has attended most meetings and clean-ups faithfully and served as the President of the Logan Rotary club in 1989-1990. He has served on the Dictionary Project committee 10 of the last 13 years and as the chairman for six of those years.

The Dictionary Project has given a dictionary to every 3rd grader in Cache and Rich counties for the last 13 years. That means thousands of dictionaries have been hand-delivered to local school children because of Haueter’s efforts.

He served our country for two years in active military service and then in the Army Reserve. Haueter graduated from Utah State University in 1975 and later obtained his MBA.

Haueter has worked in the financial industry as a Financial Advisor for over 30 years with Harold Dance Investments. He and his wife Kay were married in 1971; they have 6 children and 19 grandchildren. He enjoys working out, hunting with his sons, and the TV show “Last Man Standing”.

Please join with the Logan Rotary Club in congratulating Kent Haueter as the Logan Rotary Club’s Rotarian of 2016.
