Search & Rescue crews looking for missing ski resort employees

LOGAN — Search and rescue teams are being called to help look for two missing Beaver Mountain Ski resort workers, who were skiing earlier today and failed to report to work this afternoon.

Cache County Sheriff’s Lt. Brian Locke said employees at the resort called deputies for help after the male and female, both in their early-to-mid-20s, failed to return after skiing. Both were supposed to work at the resort at 4 p.m. Deputies have not released their identities.

Ski Patrol members told deputies they had searched within the boundary of the resort with no success. It is believed the two may have skied out of bounds, on the back-side of the resort.

Locke said crews have set up a command post in Franklin Basin and are coordinating the search with ski patrol members.
