Novemberfest continues, but in a new home

It has been a popular pre-Christmas event for 33 years and the annual Novemberfest Arts and Crafts Fair continues Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Good friends Charlene Watts and Nina Despain, who are hosting the event, started Novemberfest when their children were very young.

They had a lot of friends who did crafts and needed a place to sell it. Now Charlene says they are both grandmothers.

“It’s been 33 years that the show has been going on,” Watts explains. “People still look forward to it. They associate it with Thanksgiving weekend.

“This year we have some exciting news. We have changed our location. We are now going to be at the Riverwoods Conference Center.”

Watts says the vendors are excited about the new location and there will be a lot of new and exciting items. She says Riverwoods will have an area designated for serving lunches.
