Cache County Republican Party Chairman Boyd Pugmire was part of the large crowd that turned out on Wednesday for a Salt Lake City rally hosted by Mike Pence, running mate to Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
Pugmire said there was a lot of energy exhibited when Pence told those attending to “come home” and support a candidate who will preserve conservative values.
“Governor Pence did a great job delivering his message,” exclaimed Pugmire. “Probably the biggest message he had was that it’s time for the Republicans to come home, let’s take care of this and get it done.
“Then I was watching last night and it looks like they’re back within three points in the polls now. That double digit lead from a couple weeks ago is gone. They are within three or four points in the race now. It’s getting close.”
Pugmire says he is feeling optimistic about Republican victories whether they are local, state or national candidates.
