If you crave fresh market produce but it’s not the weekend, it’s the middle of the week instead, local residents have had the option again this summer of attending the Wednesday in Wellsville Farmer & Craft Market. According to organizer Kaylene Ames, it started last year as a fundraiser for the Wellsville Tabernacle
“Actually what happened is we have quite a bit of activity here in Wellsville. This year we have a new splash pad (and) a snow barn. So there is a lot of kids and families on the square. It was just such a fun event from last year, we had several vendors ask if we would do it again..so here we are,” said Ames.
The location of the market is right next to the Tabernacle in the town square. It will run Wednesday from 3p.m. to 7p.m. and next week as well before it closes for the season. It may be ending a little sooner than some may desire, but Ames says the town needs to get ready for the annual Founder’s Day celebration in early September right after the final market.
