LOGAN – A huge Pioneer Day celebration is planned for Monday July 25th, according to Deb Harvey of Logan’s Park and Recreation Department which sponsors the annual event.
Harvey said there is a non-competitive fun run at 7 a.m. followed by the popular Lion’s Club breakfast from 7:30 to 10 a.m. at Willow Park
“Some sporting events will take place on that day,” she said. “We’ve got volleyball, basketball, horseshoes, three-on-three soccer. We have a pickleball tournament which is new this year. We also have some family fun Zumba starting at 10, and of course we there’s our Pioneer Day celebration parade that will take place.”
Harvey said the parade starts at noon on Center Street and 100 West, then goes to 500 West before turning south to Willow Park. She said among the events is a disc golf tournament, Pioneer Playland, family bingo and much more. Harvey said entertainment includes magician Paul Brewer and music by Mile Marker 6 followed by the headliner, The Strike. The celebration ends with fireworks by Fireworks West at dark.
