The turnout for the June 28 Primary election in Cache County as 39.11% and County Clerk Jill Zollinger is calling that “awesome.” She told Cache County Council members Tuesday that this is the highest percentage she can remember for a Primary, and in one precinct the turnout was actually 56%.
“It will be interesting to see how November goes,” said Zollinger. “Usually when there is a November election people think it is very important to vote for president. If they will this year, I don’t know.”
She said most people would agree that this is a different kind of year. Zollinger said she does believe the fact that local residents voted by mail contributed to the high turnout.
