Ogden man arrested after allegedly breaking baby’s arm

Jonathan Dunn, 29, accused of abusing a six-month-old baby from North Logan.

Police arrested a 29-year-old Ogden man Thursday, accused of abusing a six-month-old baby from North Logan.

North Park Police Chief Kim Hawkes said Jonathan Dunn was booked into the Cache County Jail on an initial offense of inflicting serious physical injury, a second-degree felony. He was later released after posting bail.

According to detectives, the baby was admitted to the hospital with a broken arm and severe bruising back on February 15. Hospital staff notified agents with Child and Family Services (DCFS) who then called police.

The baby is not related to Dunn, and the abuse allegedly occurred while he was visiting the home in North Logan.

Hawkes explained that detectives later interviewed Dunn, who corroborated on some of the info police had already gathered regarding the baby’s injuries.

Formal charges are pending upon completion of the investigation.

Hawkes said, thankfully the baby is recovering from their injuries. “We are very fortunate in that regard,” he said.
