Former aide at Perry school faces sexual abuse charges

WILLARD, Utah (AP) — A former Box Elder County charter school employee is facing allegations that he sexually abused a child.

KUTV in Salt Lake City reports (http://bit.ly/1ZLb1RG) that 26-year-old Kasey John Cox, of Willard, has been arrested on three counts each of suspicion of aggravated sexual abuse of a child and suspicion of forcible sexual abuse.

County deputies served a search warrant Friday on his home and seized several times.

Authorities say Cox recently resigned his job as an instructional aide at Promontory School of Expeditionary Learning in Perry.

Deputies say there is no indication so far that any criminal activity involving Cox and his position at the school.

Officials did not disclose Cox’s relationship to the alleged victim.

It was not known Sunday if Cox had an attorney.
