The Cache Chamber of Commerce is hostng the first annual Cache Business Women’s Conference on Thursday, October 22 and the event will be he held at the Riverwoods Conference Center in Logan from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Sandy Emile, the chamber’s president and CEO, says she’s excited about the event.

”We have wonderful keynote speakers and breakout sessions,” Emile explains. “The whole focus of the conference is to give some fresh ideas to business women from multiple walks of life.

”They could be working in a bank, they could be running their own business, they could be executives, entrepreneurs, mom’s starting a business or women part-time in the business field.”

She says the women attending the conference will be able to take a lot of enthusiasm and new ideas back to their workplace. Emile says among the speakers is Emily Howard from Uni-Shipper who will talk about what it is like to expand a business, and about hiring and firing and going through a recession.

She says although it’s hard work to start and run a business if you are a man, it can sometimes be even more difficult for a woman because she usually wears so many hats–they are often involved with caring for children and/or senior parents and making sure the children have good meals and get their homework done
