Walking poetically

If you like to walk and enjoy a little poetry at the same time, you are invited to the Urban Naturalist Poetry Walkabout to take place Thursday. Logan’s poet laureate Star Coulbrooke has been serving in her capacity with Logan City since May and this will be the 4th excursion.

Coulbrooke, on KVNU’s For the People program on Wednesday talked about how the idea came about.   “I thought it would be really fun to walk around Logan and read some poems and maybe practice writing some poems.   Because Logan is such an interesting place and it has all these little nooks and places where people might not go”.

Coulbrooke said growing up along the Bear River in Riverdale, Idaho and the beautiful mountains in our area help inspire poetic thoughts. The surroundings have helped her get through some tough times. Coulbrooke said the latest walkabout will take place – rain or shine.

Coulbrooke said, “We’re going to start at Caffe Ibis right at 520(p.m.) That’s when we’ll meet.  Everyone’s welcome..any and every age…any persuasion.   You don’t have to be a poet or writer to come…we’ll head out from Caffe Ibis at about 530, walk past the tabernacle…come out on Main Street”.  She said they’ll have an exciting guest reader at Edwards Furniture and then walk to Garff Gardens.
