George Wilcox selected as That Famous Night Rodeo Grand Marshal

George Wilcox has been selected as Grand Marshal for That Famous Preston Night Rodeo coming up July 30 through August 1st. Wilcox was service manager at West Motor Company when he was recruited to teach the automotive class at Preston High School.

From 1967 to 1989 Wilcox and his students represented Preston High School in achieving 45 first place finishes in state contests. They went to 38 national competitions and finished in the top 10 places nine different times.

Wilcox served as president of the Preston Teachers Association and belonged to numerous other organizations. He retired in 1989 and after his retirement Wilcox served a three-year term on the Preston Board of Education. Wilcox has been a member of the Elks Lodge in Preston for 68 years.
