LOGAN — Three men were arrested after a fight early Sunday morning at a home near 54 East 600 North.

Logan City Police Chief Gary Jensen said officers were originally called to a basement apartment around 3:30 a.m. on report of a burglary. When they arrived, they found 32-year-old Joshua Smith, 24-year-old Anthony Noles and 22-year-old Nathan Cook had reportedly been using methamphetamine when the fight broke out.

According to officers, Smith, who is the apartment’s landlord, became paranoid and struck Noles in the head with a baseball bat.

Jensen said Smith then went to Noles’ downstairs apartment and used a key to get inside.

A girl inside the apartment called police saying that Smith had broke in and was using a knife to threaten Noles.

Smith surrendered to officers without incident and was arrested. He’s been charged with six felonies, including aggravated burglary, aggravated assault, drug possession and child endangerment. He’s being held on a $200,000 bail.

Noles was treated by paramedics and later arrested. Both he and Cook have been charged with one count of drug possession, a second-degree felony.
