Past Pi Kappa Alpha president waves preliminary hearing

<p class=”Standard”>LOGAN — A former president of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity in Logan, accused of molesting several female Utah State University students, waved his right to a preliminary hearing as lawyers work toward a possible plea agreement.</p><p class=”Standard”>Ryan C. Wray appeared in 1<sup>st</sup> District Court Tuesday afternoon.  The 26-year-old was charged with forcible sexual abuse, a first-degree felony.  </p><p class=”Standard”>Wray’s attorney, Shannon Demler told the court his client wished to waive his scheduled preliminary hearing as they work with state attorneys on resolving the case.  Details of the plea were not disclosed.</p><p class=”Standard”>In March, Wray was arrested after several female students reported being sexually assaulted by the past president, while attending parties at the fraternity house, near USU.</p><p class=”Standard”>In each case, the girls reported being drunk at the time of the assaults and were supposedly being cared for by Wray.</p><p class=”Standard”>The fraternity headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee, suspended Wray shortly after being arrested.</p><p class=”Standard”>Wray will appear again in court August 24. </p><hr />
