Rock faces vandalized near Logan in national forest

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Forest officials in Utah say they’ve discovered several rock faces vandalized in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest in northern Utah.

U.S. Forest Service spokeswoman Kathy Jo Pollock says in a statement that rocks in canyons along several trails in the forest’s Logan district have been defaced.

Pollock offered few details about the vandalism but says generally public lands are hit by graffiti or damage to signs, picnic tables and other property.

She says the Forest Service is asking for the public to offer any information on the vandalism and report future incidents.

Vandals can face a fine of $275 plus the cost of cleaning up
