Engineering students from across the western U.S. are gathered in Logan this week for a regional conference aimed at helping emerging professionals better integrate into the engineering workforce.
The Utah State University student chapter of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, or SHPE, is hosting the regional leadership development conference on campus through Saturday.
Jose Campos, USU chapter president, says the purpose of the event is to help Hispanic engineering students connect with professionals in industry and academia, improve professional skills and build awareness of science, technology, engineering and math programs in the Hispanic community.
