Boater missing on Willard Bay identified

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Authorities have identified a fisherman missing since Sunday on Willard Bay.

Utah State Parks officials said Tuesday that 45-year-old Matthew Rasmussen launched his boat from the Great Salt Lake’s Willard Bay State Park marina about 8 a.m. Sunday, and was reported missing about 30 minutes later.

Crews found Rasmussen’s boat with gear still inside late Sunday night near the south end of the bay, about 100 feet offshore.

The search for Rasmussen, a Morgan County resident, continued Tuesday.

Willard Bay is located about 50 miles north of Salt Lake City.
