Utah farmers and ranchers are encouraged to take a picture of what they do

Today is National Agriculture Day and Larry Lewis of the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food says he hopes everyone will take time out to remember and to honor the farmers and ranchers from all over the state.

Lewis says Utah Agriculture Commissioner LuAnn Adams wanted something special so Lewis says a project has been put together.

“Our project is called A Day in the Life of Utah Agriculture,” Lewis explains. “We are encouraging farmers across the state to pause for a moment or so and take a couple of photos of what they are doing and send it to us.

“We are going to put an online photo album together and make it available to the general public so everybody can see exactly what goes on on a farm, how hard they work, where our food comes from. It gives everybody a chance to say thank you to Utah’s farmers and ranchers.”

Lewis says the photos should be sent to [email protected]. He says it’s a great chance to say thank you to Utah’s farmers and ranchers and to get a look at some of the many important things they do.
