Wellsville man dies in accident

LOGAN — A 50-year-old Wellsville man died Thursday night after falling from a boom truck.

Cache County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Matt Bilodeau said Jeffery Glenn was trimming a tree near 300 South 300 West in Wellsville. He tied a rope to a tree and the boom truck, attempting to keep tree limbs away from nearby power lines.

Witnesses said while trimming, the rope broke, catapulting Glenn out of the bucket and onto a pile of wood. He reportedly fell approximately 30-feet.

Bilodeau said witnesses started CPR and called 911. Emergency medical personnel transported Glenn to Logan Regional Hospital by ambulance, where he was pronounced dead.

The incident has been referred to the State Medical Examiner’s office for a determination on the cause of death.

Sheriff Chad Jensen said, “This is a tragic accident for all those involved. The Sheriff’s Office extends its condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Glenn.”
