Medical emergency at Beaver Mountain

LOGAN — Emergency crews were called to Beaver Mountain Thursday afternoon after a skier began to experience a medical emergency.

Cache County Sheriff’s Lt. Brian Locke said the skier started feeling symptoms of a stroke and notified the Ski Patrol. They contacted EMS and sheriff’s deputies for help. Because of the distance, a medical helicopter was also dispatched. They were able to land at the ski resort and transported the skier to the hospital.

Locke said the Ski Patrol was able to handle the emergency. Search and Rescue teams were also put on standby as a precaution but not needed.
