Multiple choirs combine for annual Christmas Benefit Concert

The 17th annual Christmas Benefit Concert will be held Sunday at 7 p.m. in the Logan Tabernacle and although there is no charge but donations to the Cache Community Food Pantry have been suggested.

Conductor Harry Heap says for the most part the musicians have been together since the concert began but he says there have been some newcomers and this year the youngest age is just 14.

”Elizabeth Evans from the Presbyterian Church will be conducting the Presbyterian Choir and is helping us conduct the community choir as well,” Heap explains. “Kathy Bullock will be joining us this year also with the Bell Choir.

”Carl Axtel will be honoring us with a performance on the organ. So we get to use the Tabernacle organ for the concert.”

The concert was founded by Gary Griffin who still coordinates the annual event. Matt Whittaker, Executive Director of the food pantry, says both food and money that comes in are appreciated and they are greatly needed by local low income families.
