First brainstorming session held on Logan River restoration project

The first meeting of the Logan River Restoration Task Force was recently held, an organization that was formed to come up with a way to improve and beautify the area along the Logan River near Golf Course Road and 1000 West.

Logan Public Works Director Mark Nielsen told the Logan Municipal Council Tuesday that the group was comprised of Utah State University professors, property owners, other stakeholders and city personnel.

“The first part of the meeting was just to identify what would you like to see on the river,” Nielsen explained. “After we got all those lists, then our task now is to short list that into the ones that are critical and need to be done in order to improve and make that river an attraction for everybody.”

He called it mostly a brainstorming session but said with a grant from the Department of Natural Resources the group will come up with a project soon.
