WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (AP) — Authorities say a body found in the Jordan River earlier this week belongs to a 30-year-old Murray woman whose disappearance nine weeks ago triggered a vigorous search.
Police in Murray and West Valley City confirmed Tuesday that Kayelyn Louder’s body was the one found partially submerged in the water during an inspection of drainage pipes on Monday.
Louder left her condo barefoot and walked into the rain on Sept. 27, leaving her dog, phone and keys behind.
Surveillance video captured her talking to herself in an agitated manner just before she disappeared.
Police say she had no history of mental illness. Her cause of death has not yet been determined.
Louder’s family issued a statement thanking volunteers for their help during the ordeal.
