Logan Mayor Craig Petersen says everything helps when it comes to better air. Petersen told the Logan Municipal Council Tuesday that the city has received a $35,000 grant from U-CARE to be spent for that purpose.
At last week’s meeting conservation officer Emily Malik told the council what that money will be spent for.
“Funding to purchase an electric vehicle for Parking Authority and also to put in a charging station, an electric vehicle rapid charging station,” Malik explained. “That would be a credit card sort of system where people would have to pay for their power and it would charge by the hour.
“The other component is to put anti-idling signs around the valley.”
Malik said the only cost to the city will be approximately $50 to erect the “No Idling” signs.
