Loads of freebies and discounts for Veterans

Tuesday, November 11 is Veteran’s Day, a day to remember and honor those who have served, or currently serve, in the U.S. military. Many organizations and businesses are doing their part to give back to those brave men and women. The following is a list of discounts, free services, and activities being offered for veterans and active duty military.

<strong>Free Meal</strong> – Lee’s Marketplace is offering all veterans a free meal Tuesday at all three of their locations: Smithfield, Logan, North Ogden. Chili’s, Olive Garden, and Applebee’s are also offering free meals off a limited menu for veterans and members of active duty military. Participating Chick-fil-A locations are offering a free meal to all veterans and those currently serving. ID required. Call ahead to verify.

<strong>Free Coffee</strong> – All military members (veterans and active duty) and their spouses can get free, tall brewed coffee at Starbucks on Tuesday. Free coffee is also available to all active duty and veterans at participating Einstein Bros Bagels. Have military ID or proof of service available.

<strong>Free Pancakes</strong> – Red, white and blue pancakes are on the menu at IHOP from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for active, non-active and retired members of the military.

<strong>Free Grand Slam</strong> – Denny’s is allowing all active, inactive and retired military personnel to build their own Grand Slam Breakfast from 5 a.m. to 12 noon at participating locations.

<strong>Free Breakfast</strong> – Veterans and active duty military personnel receive a free breakfast at Village Inn from a select menu at participating locations.

<strong>Free Lunch</strong> – Texas Roadhouse locations nationwide will offer veterans a free lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Offer is good for active duty, retired or former U.S. military. Sizzler and TGIFriday also offer a free lunch from a limited menu (until 4 p.m. at Sizzler, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at TGIFriday). 

<strong>Free Burger</strong> -<strong> </strong>Veterans and active duty military receive a free Red’s Tavern Double Burger with Bottomless Steak Fries at Red Robbin.

<strong>Free Appetizer/Beverage</strong> – Outback Steakhouse is offering a free Bloomin’ Onion and a beverage to all active and former service members. Red Lobster and Ruby Tuesday are also offering a free appetizer from a limited menu. 

<strong>Free Workout</strong> – Exercise without having to join a membership. 24-hour Fitness is offering the use of its club for any veterans and active duty military through Tuesday.

<strong>Free Hair Cut</strong> – Great Clips is offering free haircuts for veterans or a card for a free haircut that can be given to veterans, redeemable by Dec. 31.

<strong>Free Oil Change</strong> – Participating Grease Monkey Centers will offer Free Oil changes to Veterans on Tuesday. Veterans need to show their military ID, DD214 or state driver’s license with military insignia stamp.

<strong>20% Retail Discounts</strong> – Bed, Bath &amp; Beyond is offering 20% off entire purchases for veterans, active duty, Reserves, Guard and spouses through Tuesday, Nov. 11. JC Penny is offering 20% discounts on select apparel. JoAnn Fabric &amp; Craft Stores are also offering 20% discounts off total purchases for past and present service members and their families.

<strong>Discounts on Tools</strong> – Active, reserve, and retired military get 40% off regular priced tools at Sears or an extra 10% off sale priced tools.

<strong>Veterans Memorial Concert</strong> – This <a href=”http://www.cachevalleydaily.com/news/local/article_144d0210-671c-11e4-8f1b-001a4bcf6878.html” target=”_blank”>free concert</a>, hosted by the American Festival Chorus and Orchestra, will again be held at the USU Kent Concert Hall in the Chase Fine Arts Center on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Seating is done on a first-come, first-serve basis. 

<strong>Free Admission to Lava Hot Springs</strong> – To say “Thank You” to the men and women who served their country in the armed forces, there is FREE admission to the Lava Hot Springs Hot Pools all day, Veteran’s Day, November 11. Bring whatever proof of service you have available, tattoos accepted. Idaho’s World Famous Hot Pools open at 9 a.m. everyday and close at 10 p.m. on Veteran’s Day.

<strong>Hometown Heroes Event</strong> – Cabela’s hosts a Hometown Heroes event on Veterans Day, November 11 with an increased discount for military personnel as well as law-enforcement, firefighters and emergency medical service personnel.

<strong>Golden Corral Military Appreciation Dinner</strong> – Free meal, Monday Nov. 17, from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. The 14th annual Golden Corral Military Appreciation Monday dinner will is available to any person who has ever served in the United States Military. If you are a veteran, retired, currently serving, in the National Guard or Reserves, you are invited to participate in Golden Corral’s Military Appreciation Monday dinner.
