Free Financial Wellness Workshop teaching financial basics

Logan City and the Bear River Association of Governments are teaming up to host a family Financial Wellness Workshop on Tuesday, September 30 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Logan Library’s Bonneville Room, 255 North Main.

Logan’s Community Development Block Grant Coordinator James Olson says the workshop is free with no strings attached and a free dinner will be provided.

“It’s a chance for them to learn more about financial basics,” Olson explains. “We’re looking at credit, we’re getting people more familiar with budgeting, home ownership, even with banking.

“It’s a combination of the City of Logan, BRAG, and other community partners. These are local, financial experts that many are from for-profit businesses, and some non-profits coming in and providing what we consider a great community need.”

Olson says increased access to basic financial education was one of the most often repeated community needs heard during a dozen outreach meetings earlier this year. He says the session will start with a presentation about financial basics followed by a panel discussion where people can ask questions.

RSVP’s are appreciated but not required. For more information call Laura Nyberg at BRAG at 752-7242.
