Police arrest two suspects in smash and grab burglaries

Sarah Danielle Harkins, 30, of West Valley City.  Arrested September 12 and accused of breaking into several vehicles on the morning of August 27, stealing purses and then using the stolen credit cards at local businesses.

LOGAN — Police have arrested two people suspected of burglarizing several vehicles and using stolen credit cards at local businesses.

Logan City Police arrested Lea Michael Fava September 12. The 43-year-old West Valley City man was booked into the Cache County Jail. He’s being held on a $15,000 bail.

Six days later, 30-year-old Sarah Danielle Harkins, also of West Valley City was arrested. She remains in the Cache County Jail and bail has not been set.

Both Fava and Harkins are accused of breaking into several vehicles on the morning of August 27, stealing purses and then using the stolen credit cards at local businesses.

The two are both facing eight charges of unlawful use of a credit card, a third-degree felony and six misdemeanor charges including vehicle burglary, theft and criminal mischief.

Harkins was arraigned in 1st District Court Monday. She is scheduled to appear again in court October 7.

Fava was arraigned Tuesday and was ordered to appear again October 2.
