A 49-year-old hunter was killed Saturday near Little Creek Reservoir, in what Rich County Sheriff’s deputies are calling a hunting accident.
In a press release, deputies said the two men were hunting antelope, east of Randolph. The brothers were reportedly stalking an animal when one of the men took a shot and did not see his brother sitting near him.
Deputies said the victim was shot in the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The identities of both men have not been released.
Deputies said they are performing additional investigations today with the help of the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources. Additional information is expected to be released later.
The shooting reportedly occurred around 6:30 p.m.
