United Way Day of Caring lifts the load for local non-profits

The United Way Day of Caring is coming up on Thursday, September 11 and United Way executive director Doug Stephenson said everyone is invited to do what they can to lift the load for a group or organizations through a variety of different service projects.

Stephenson says a lot of non-profits need help with such projects as painting, general clean-up, or other maintenance jobs.

“So we’ve been doing it for the last five years. We’ve had great support by local businesses who send their employees to work on that day. They make it a day of team work, fellowship and fun for all of them.”

Stephenson says County Executive Lynn Lemon will give a short speech at the 8 a.m. send-off which will be held at Willow Park’s Center Stage.
