Preliminary hearing scheduled for Logan man accused of rape

Drew Andersen, 38, arrested on six counts of rape, a first-degree felony.

LOGAN — A judge has scheduled a preliminary hearing for a 38-year-old Logan man accused of rape.

Drew Andersen appeared in 1st District Court Monday afternoon. He is being charged with six counts of rape, all first-degree felonies.

Andersen was arrested August 29 after confessing to police of raping an underage girl over a dozen times.

Logan City Police Capt. Tyson Budge said Andersen was cooperative during the investigation and was arrested without incident. Officers who investigated, believe this was an isolated incident and there are no other victims.

The preliminary hearing has been scheduled for September 16. Andersen remains in the Cache County Jail on a $120,000 bail.
